چکیده

The Lygodactylus genus is one of the most species-rich genera gekkonid lizards in Africa. It relatively few exclusively diurnal geckos’ lineages and its members include some smallest gekkonids. Osteological features within have never been addressed detail. We here provide a detailed bone-by-bone skull description picturatus to expand knowledgebase on gecko cranial structure. High-Resolution X-ray Computed Tomography (HRCT) has used, followed by segmentation description. As expected, L. presents modifications basic gekkotan plan due miniaturisation, such as an increase overlap area muzzle unit lost or reduction jugal bone. In addition, this species characterised absence squamosal, fused nasals, reduced postorbitofrontal bone extremely rounded parietal bones. Finally, we observed orbital space, comparison with other miniaturised gekkotans, presumably consequence their behaviour niche preference.
